Staff at Wesley Primary School spent time considering what strengths they could take forward into their new school build and also how to overcome some of the challenges they were currently facing in their single-cell classrooms.

This was all underpinned by the five key themes from the PLS in Practice Design Framework: Pedagogy, Curriculum Experience, Organisation of Learning, Leadership of Learning and Community Participation.

It is important to identify what is working well in each of the current learning environments because this can then be carried forward into the new spaces and it also gives staff the opportunity to reflect and celebrate these successes.

By highlighting some of the challenges that staff face in their standard classroom areas, it allows them to discuss and consider new ways to overcome these challenges for their next practice.

Every learning space is different. All children have different ways of learning. The learning environment should accommodate to all the needs of the children.
